Speaking in Brisbane, Prime Minister Tony Abbott condemned the attack and called it “un-Australian.”

“I think it’s un-Australian to abuse someone in a public place just because you don’t like the way they look, or you don’t like the way they dress, or you make assumptions about what they believe,” Mr Abbott said, according to ABC Queensland.

“That’s completely un-Australian.”

  1. A Facebook page under the name Kader Boumzar appeared to claim responsibility for the stream of obscene invective directed at a train guard, and the user expressed his regret at the incident.

“I’m really sorry to everyone that was affected by the video,” he wrote.

“I really can not remember anything out of all honesty the post made before was someone else I know this is no excuse. But can you all see (from) my point of view that I was a F—— idiot and I’m really sorry.”

Earlier the same page had posted a response telling people to “stop over reacting” and claiming to be “proud to be white”.

In the original video, a young man launches into a racist tirade against the train security guard after being told to take his feet off the seat.

“Do you want to come to Australia and learn some proper English?” he says.

“Learn some f—— English, because this is Australia, c—, I can’t understand you.”

Later he leaves his seat, strides down to confront the guard and says: “If you want to be a security guard, learn some English.”

He then opens the door to the driver’s cabin and accuses the train driver of “causing a drama”.

“I will f—— sit on this train for hours if I have to, I’ll hold all you f—— up,” he says.

“I really don’t care. Especially this black c—.”

Later, he says: “Do you even have a citizenship, you f—— n—–?”

After leaving the train cabin, he walks to the other end of the carriage, but continues to insult the guard and threatens to physically assault him.

One passenger with an American accent stands up for the guard and is abused by the attacker. The attacker moves down the carriage towards him, continuing his abusive tirade.

The person filming the incident can be heard laughing, and later encourages the attacker to leave the train before being arrested, at what appears to be Indooroopilly station.

The altercation was not physical, and the train guard has been praised for remaining calm. He places himself between his racist attacker and his US-accented defender, preventing the pair from coming to blows.

The male believed to be behind the attack is a 17-year-old known to police. Australian rapper Fortafy shared the video on his Facebook page, drawing more than 11,000 shares.

“Found this on someone’s page, had to re-post,” he wrote.

“Makes me feel sick that people are like this.”

Queensland Police said no complaint had yet been made regarding the incident. Queensland Rail has released a statement condemning the attack.

“We are disgusted at the anti-social behaviour of this passenger towards our contracted security officers,” a spokesperson said.

“We congratulate the security officer on his response and attempt to safely de-escalate the situation.

“To see this occur is appalling.

“We have contacted the security company to offer our support to the guard.”

The incident comes less than a month after 21-year-old Gold Coast woman Larna Watmough was handed a suspended two-month jail sentence for racially abusing and assaulting a 77-year-old man on a bus.
